Daily Word
Six-Letter Word Game
One more letter, a lot more to think about. Guess the hidden six-letter word in six tries, and start a new one whenever you finish. There's no daily limit and no sign-up.
After each guess, green tiles are in the right spot, orange letters are in the word but somewhere else, and gray letters aren't in it.
Tips for Six-Letter Words
- Start with common letters E, A, R, T, N, S and L show up in most six-letter words. A first guess like SILENT or RETAIN tests five of them at once.
- Watch the ending Many six-letter words end in -ER, -LE, -EN or -ET: WINTER, CANDLE, GARDEN, BASKET. Once the last letters turn green, focus on the start.
- Move your orange letters An orange letter is in the word but not in that spot. Put it somewhere new in your next guess and you learn twice as much.
- Answers are base words You won't get plurals or verb forms such as WALKED, though they still work as guesses.
More Ways to Play
Every length keeps its own stats. Try seven or eight letters for a longer game, or go back to four and five letters. The daily puzzle is one shared five-letter word a day.
