Four-Letter Word Game
Short words, tricky puzzles. Guess the hidden four-letter word in six tries, then go straight on to the next one. It's the quickest way to play Daily Word, and you can play as often as you like.
Green tiles are in the right spot, orange letters belong somewhere else in the word, and gray letters aren't in it at all.
Tips for Four-Letter Words
- Beware of word families Endings like -ARE, -ATE or -ILL fit lots of words: BARE, CARE, DARE, FARE. When three letters are green, use your next guess to test several possible first letters at once instead of trying them one by one.
- Find the vowels early Most four-letter words have one or two vowels, so a first guess that tests A, E and O quickly narrows things down.
- Expect repeated letters BOOK, SEEN, BALL and HILL all use a letter twice. If nothing else fits, try one again.
- Forget plurals The answers are never plurals, so an S at the end is unlikely.
