Welcome to Word Puzzles!
Free word puzzles you can play right in your browser: Word Puzzles is a site with a small, growing collection of word games. There is no sign-up and nothing to install. Just open a puzzle, start playing, and your progress is saved locally so you can come back to it whenever you have a few minutes to spare.
Each game is built to be quick to pick up and easy to return to, whether you are after a relaxing way to unwind or a bit of a daily brain workout. The puzzles run just as smoothly on a phone or tablet as they do on a desktop, and the whole site is also available in French, German, Spanish and Portuguese (the language switch lives in the footer).
The Games
Word Search
A grid of letters with hidden words to find. Pick a category, then drag across the grid to mark each word you find. Words can run in any direction, including backward and diagonal, and there is a hint button for the ones you cannot find. The game saves your best times so you can try to beat them.
Fill-In Crosswords
A crossword where you get the answers instead of the clues. The whole word list is shown with the grid, and you have to figure out where each word goes. Words that cross each other share a letter, which helps you work out the tricky ones. You do not need a big vocabulary, just some logic and patience.
Codewords
A crossword grid locked behind a number code: the same number always hides the same letter. Use the revealed starting letters, letter frequencies, and word shapes to crack the cipher and fill the grid.
Anagrams
A classic word finder: you get a rack of scrambled letters and a board of common words to spell with them, from short to long. Shuffle the tiles when you run dry, and use hints for the last stubborn word. Fill the whole board to finish the puzzle.
Daily Word
A daily word guessing game. Everyone gets the same secret five-letter word, and you have six tries to find it. After each guess the tiles show which letters are correct, misplaced, or absent. There is one new word every day, and the game keeps track of your streak and stats so you can watch your solving improve over time.
